Split 16 privacy policy
Who we are
Split 16 is made in Belfast, Northern Ireland, by Green17 Creative Ltd, company number NI632378, registered office CH 17, Inspire Business Park, Belfast BT16 1QT, ICO registration ZA793831. For anything about your data: privacy@split16.com.
Split 16 is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any race organiser.
The short version
Everything Split 16 knows about you is stored on your iPhone and Apple Watch. There is no Split 16 account and we run no server that receives your data, so we cannot see your races, your heart rate, your photos or your name. We do not use advertising, tracking or analytics software.
What the app stores, and where
| What | Where it is kept | Why |
|---|---|---|

| Profile: sex, birth year, division, units, max heart rate | Your iPhone and Watch | Age group, heart rate zones, station weights |
| Doubles partners: name, number, email, birth year, photo | Your iPhone | To plan and share with your partner. You are responsible for having their agreement |
| Race photos you add | Your iPhone | To show on the race and on pictures you share |
| Your privacy choices and when you made them | Your iPhone | So you can see what you agreed to |
Apple Health
If you connect Apple Health, Split 16 reads heart rate and distance while you race, the workouts you choose to import, and your highest recent heart rate. It saves races you track on the Watch as workouts. What it reads stays on your iPhone. It is never used for advertising and never shared. You can stop this in the app under You, Privacy & your data, and remove access completely in the Health app under Sharing, Apps.
iCloud backup (optional, off until you turn it on)
You can keep a copy of your races, plans, partners and race diary in your own iCloud account, so a lost phone or a deleted app does not lose them. That copy is held by Apple under your Apple Account. We cannot see it. Heart rate is never copied, and races imported from Apple Health are not copied, because Apple does not allow health data in iCloud. Photos are not copied. You can turn the backup off and remove the copy at any time in the app.
Files you import and things you share
FIT and GPX files are read on your iPhone. Nothing is uploaded. When you share a plan, a race picture or an export, it goes only where you send it. A shared plan carries the plan, your first name if you set one, and the time it was sent.
What Apple tells us
If you installed Split 16 through TestFlight or the App Store and you chose to share analytics with developers in your iPhone settings, Apple gives us crash reports and usage counts that do not identify you. TestFlight shows us the email address you were invited with and the feedback you choose to send.
The race calendar
The list of race weekends ships inside the app. The app does not contact us or anyone else to show it.
Your rights
You can export everything the app holds (You, Privacy & your data, Export my data) and delete everything (the same screen, Delete everything), which also removes the iCloud copy and the workouts Split 16 saved to Health. Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing further for us to delete, but you can always write to privacy@split16.com, and you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Split 16 is for people aged 16 and over.
Changes
We will change this page before the app changes what it does with your data, and the app will ask you before any new use is switched on.
